As Johnson County Wastewater advances a major initiative in its 25-year Integrated Plan, Iowa Trenchless is supporting a project that delivers both infrastructure improvement and long-term financial benefit. The State Line Road Pump Stations and Forcemain Project will reroute wastewater from the Leawood service area to the upgraded Tomahawk Creek Treatment Facility, saving the county more than $100 million over two decades.

To complete crossings beneath I-435 and frontage roads with minimal disruption, Iowa Trenchless installed multiple trenchless segments using pilot-tube guided jack and bore:

  • Two 12″ gravity sewer segments inside 24″ steel casing
  • Two 20″ and two 24″ forcemain segments inside 42″ steel casing

These trenchless installations were essential for navigating congestion, maintaining traffic flow, and protecting adjacent properties. The project demonstrates how strategic planning and advanced trenchless methods can deliver large-scale, long-term value for municipalities.
